3 weeks ago with 3 notesThey steal my gaze
My attention no longer fleeting from reality
No longer wishing
Waiting
Or dreaming of distant places
All my fears finding their way out of me
Save one
The fear that this instant might escape us
With each new moment
I find a new pigment hidden your tender eyes
Blue

Above you see Gaston’s Tavern, the entrance to Be Our Guest, and my roommate and Ariel at her new meet and greet.
Today me and my roommates went to the New Fantasyland preview at the Magic Kingdom. It was one of the require events for my Creativity and Innovation class. We were asked to write a paper about what we liked and disliked and what we might have changed had we of been an imagineer working on the Fantasyland project.
Me and my roommates started our preview at the new Little Mermaid ride. The mechanics of the ride and set up are similar to Nemo. You sit in shell seat and journey under the sea. The ride was classic and super colorful. The anamatronics were impressive but not as advanced as I expected. But I think the imagineers were going for a classic and not a technological look.
Later, we ventured into Gaston’s Tavern. The theming was spot on. We tried Gaston’s Tavern’s signature drink called Lefous Brew. “Le Fou’s Brew is filled with 100% no-sugar-added apple juice freeze. A hint of toasted marshmallow is added and the drink is topped with passion fruit-mango foam”. The drink was delicious! We sat in one in the larger of the two sitting rooms at Gaston’s tavern. The room was decorated with antler light fixtures and chandeliers and other rustic touches. A huge chair that resembles Gaston’s chair from the movie sat at the front of the room to the right of a rock fire place. Above the mantle hung a huge photograph of Gaston with his infamous smirk on his face. The flames that flickered in the fireplace were animated and added further magic to the room.
We also when to meet Ariel at her new meet and greet arean in Fantasyland. The line that we waited in was too long but the area in which we waited was poorly planned in my opinion. The day wasn’t very hot or humid in comparison to summer days in Orlando, however; we were extremely hot in the cue line. The line is a covered area with no fans or air condition from what we could tell. On a summer day in Florida, air condition or fans will be a must have for this attraction cue line. Hopefully Disney will make sure to take note. The actual meet and greet was actually wonderful though. Each group gets to have a private meet and greet with Ariel which adds to the magic for the guests.
Finally, we stopped by Be Our Guest Restaurant. This was by far the most gorgeous addition to Disney this year. It was so beautiful that it is hard to put into words. The prices were surprisingly reasonable as well. The main room was jaw-dropping. The room was gargantuan with high ceilings and I would say nearly 70 tables. The far wall was ceiling high windows made to appear as if the restaurant looked out into a winter night. Snow fell in the fabricated outside of the restaurant. As I stood there, I actually felt like I standing in the ballroom were Belle and Beast once danced.
Overall, the new addition to the Magic Kingdom was a success! I’m very excited to ride Snow White’s Mine Train once it is finished. It will be a new addition to the coasters collection in the Magic Kingdom. Until then, I can’t wait to go back to have many a more Lefou’s Brews!

4 months agoNo, it did not. The first two weeks are free. The $300 is for program fees and two other things that I can’t recall. When you pay the $300 it will explain exactly what you are paying for and why.

6 months ago with 2 notesI am officially halfway through my program. Wow. The days have so easily trickled away since I’ve been here. The time is flying by but I can’t help but notice all the wonderful things I have already done in the months I’ve been here. I’ve come to truly love my roommates in a way that I am completely determined to make them a permanent element of my life. Of all of the things I have discovered at Disney, they are the best that I have found.
Work is still going great. Not to much to report on that end other than I am really enjoying my co-workers and even my managers. I’m already dreading my departure from ‘the happiest place in the world’. But I shouldn’t dwell on that. I have way to many adventures left ahead of me until January.
